Tim and Jeremy are both waiters at a restaurant in downtown New York City. During slow times at work, to stave off boredom when it is slow, the two young men draw pictures. These pictures are made using ink and what is called the "Triple Dupe Pad," a book of paper used to place orders in the kitchen. The drawings usually take about a week to make, all the while also being used by fellow employees to take orders; this sometimes leads to other collaborators or in a couple cases, to the loss of the work. The drawings are then scanned and colored in Photoshop where they come to life in stunning technicolor! The subject matter varies from piece to piece, as they are made over a long course of time and under various moods and states of mind. They all retain a playfulness that serves as a coping mechanism after spending a night catering to the endless needs of hungry patrons.

#8 "The Beauty of Static" in Color.

So this is how the drawing looks on the cover of Mike Woodward's album "The Beauty of Static" by The Drip. He took the border off, but the album looks pretty awesome. The front cover is the right side of the drawing and the back cover is the left side. So that ugly dude yelling static is the cover and the zombie vampire hearing the static sits in the back. I added a bunch of pictures to this one when I was coloring it for the sake of fun and also texture.  Hidden in the right side circle is Ekaterina The Great's summer palace located in St. Petersburg, Russia. I had vacationed there in September last year and thought it matched the building theme to the left of it. I also put a photo of deep space on the middle womans dress. I figured since this was essentially trance album, it wouldn't be complete without a little space. Mike Woodward himself is hidden in the picture as well. Tim drew an amazing likeness of him peering out from behind the building on the left. He's red. Tim had been drawing a lot of him around this time in various states of distress. You see, Tim had accidentally hit Mike in the head with a lemon and this spawned a whole series of drawings about Mike "Woodlump" Woodward. Totally hilarious, and if I can find some of those drawings somewhere I will definitely post them. In the meantime, buy the album "The Beauty of Static" directly from Mike at:
