Tim and Jeremy are both waiters at a restaurant in downtown New York City. During slow times at work, to stave off boredom when it is slow, the two young men draw pictures. These pictures are made using ink and what is called the "Triple Dupe Pad," a book of paper used to place orders in the kitchen. The drawings usually take about a week to make, all the while also being used by fellow employees to take orders; this sometimes leads to other collaborators or in a couple cases, to the loss of the work. The drawings are then scanned and colored in Photoshop where they come to life in stunning technicolor! The subject matter varies from piece to piece, as they are made over a long course of time and under various moods and states of mind. They all retain a playfulness that serves as a coping mechanism after spending a night catering to the endless needs of hungry patrons.

#7 "Ooh, I Just Made a Touchdown!" January 25, 2010

Football season at the Cafe Loup! How fun! Dien gets all giddy talking about the Giants while Ardes berates my Patriots fandom by saying they don't even have a city, but a region! We used to have a little black and white television where we would watch important games, Superbowls and even World Series. We have long, drawn out conversations with regulars and each other about how good teams will be, what their record is going to be and our favorite plays of the weekend. Sometimes, our relationships with each other are a bit strained during some match-ups but we all share the same ethos: "Win or Lose, We Booze!" Well, not Ardes, but she's there in spirit. When TV went digital Lloyd got a flat screen. It's hardly ever on, but Tim and I would watch the Sunday Night Game after Junior Mance played piano during last years season. This one was done right around the time the Jets lost in the playoffs. It may have been done the exact day they lost that game. But, as with so many others, this was done over a span of a couple of days. We even got a little help from Marcel Yeogh who drew the worm coming out of the tree. The title comes from a great Youtube video from No Mas about the No Hitter Doc Ellis threw while tripping on LSD. You can check that out right here:
